We reflect on Team CourseLoop’s incredible 2024.

Partnership, courage and passion have always been core components of the CourseLoop DNA.

At the beginning of 2024, we set out with one simple goal – to build new connections and strengthen our existing relationships within the Higher Education community in Australia and the UK. Driven by our passion to understand both the shared and unique challenges of each university, 2024 saw us continue to leverage our domain expertise to help the sector transform its approach to curriculum management.

We are proud to say that last year was a fantastic year for Team CourseLoop, and with no sign of momentum letting up, we’re looking forward to 2025. But not before we take a look at our incredible 2024.

Growing our team and our community

2024 was another year of growth for CourseLoop on all fronts.

We said a big hello and g’day to new team members across operations, product, platform, and sales and marketing in the UK and Australia. Growing our global team has enabled us to better support our customers and help more universities approach curriculum management the CourseLoop way.

But it wasn’t just our team that grew, we proudly welcomed more customers to the CourseLoop community, taking our global customer count to 26 (with more universities set to join us soon). In 2024, we welcomed:

  • University of Law (UK)
  • St Mary’s University (UK)
  • City, University of London (UK)
  • Queen Mary University of London (UK)
  • University College London (UK)

We want to thank our wonderful community and strategic partners for their ongoing support throughout 2024 and for helping us challenge the status quo to help more universities realise the benefits of end-to-end curriculum management.

A new brand identity

With momentum for all things curriculum management (and CourseLoop) growing, we decided our brand needed a facelift to better reflect how the higher education sector is increasingly seeing CourseLoop.

With more and more universities now seeing effective end-to-end curriculum management as a strategic imperative, we’re proud that our new brand identity positions CourseLoop as the golden thread of curriculum management, connecting every element of a university’s curriculum, from ideation to publication and everything in between.

Joining the TechnologyOne family

In November last year, we joined the TechnologyOne family, following TechOne’s acquisition of CourseLoop.

TechnologyOne is the natural home for Team CourseLoop, and the acquisition will help us expedite our mission to transform the way higher education approaches curriculum and integrated academic operations to elevate the staff and student experience.

With the addition of CourseLoop’s game-changing curriculum management solution to its portfolio, TechnologyOne OneEducation becomes the world’s first SaaS platform to support the entire student lifecycle – from course design to graduation – via a single unified ERP solution.

Our new home at TechnologyOne will allow us to continue doing what we do best while bolstering our ability to support the diverse product and platform needs of our growing community.

Where we’ve been and what we’ve learnt

We’ve been fortunate to meet and engage with the Higher Education community at various industry events across the year, including:

  • Universities Australia Solutions Summit in Canberra
  • UCISA Leadership Conference in Edinburgh
  • RUGIT Executive Dinner in Leeds
  • Times Higher Education World Academic Summit in Manchester
  • Academic Registrars’ Council Conference in Leeds
  • UCISA CISG-PCMG in Newcastle
  • Times Higher Education Campus Live in Birmingham
  • Webinars
  • CourseLoop Executive Dinners

Our hugely popular executive dinners and our presence at important sector events have deepened our understanding of the challenges and opportunities shaping curriculum management today. Here are our top three learnings from 2024 when it comes to sector challenges relating to curriculum management.

1. A drive to improve efficiency

It’s impossible to ignore the growing financial pressure that UK Higher Education institutions are facing. To weather the storm and flourish in the long term, universities must improve efficiency, diversify income streams, and quickly bring new offerings to market to support student recruitment and growth. 2024 saw us help more and more universities gain complete curriculum oversight and reduce the manual effort required to manage every aspect of their curriculum effectively.

2. A need for greater agility

The global higher education sector needs to be more agile than ever before. Agility when it comes to curriculum planning, review and governance allows institutions to pivot quickly while maintaining academic excellence and rigour. In 2024, we helped universities address the complex challenges of end-to-end curriculum management. It’s all part of our commitment to ensuring institutions in the CourseLoop community are set up for success and able to respond to market demands and the evolving expectations of students.

3. The power of partnership

2024 saw Team CourseLoop doing more of what it does best – partnering and engaging early with universities at the start of their curriculum management journeys. With the strategic challenges we outlined above at the forefront of many institutions’ strategic thinking, it’s clear the sector is looking for expert guidance. We are incredibly proud that universities in the UK and Australia are seeing CourseLoop as THE trusted expert in the curriculum space. In 2024, beyond implementing our game-changing platform, our domain expertise saw us embark on pioneering curriculum discovery and consultancy projects for universities in the UK. More on this soon.

So, what can you expect from CourseLoop in 2025? In short, more of the same. We look forward to sharing our expertise, growing the CourseLoop community, and bolstering our reputation as thought leaders on all things curriculum management as part of the TechnologyOne family.
